acatech

acatech is the National Academy of Science and Engineering of Germany (die Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften) - the voice of the technological sciences at home and abroad. It provides advice on strategic engineering and technology policy issues to policymakers and the public, and brings together science, industry and civil society. Particularly, acatech has a mandate from the Federal Government and the Länder to contribute expert knowledge to the policymaking process.

The Academy’s Members are prominent scientists from the fields of engineering, the natural sciences and medicine, as well as the humanities and social sciences, being elected on the basis of their scientific achievements and reputation. acatech currently has around 500 Members.
