Abstract
This paper aims at building a framework called SeFrame to demonstrate the notion
of Semantic Service Oriented Architecture (SSOA). The SSOA is proposed to overcome limits of the traditional Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). In SOA, all basic service-related functionalities such as service discovery, service invocation and service registration are based on some specific XML-based syntax. This approach is usually very difficult to extend an existing system or to incorporate a system of an enterprise with others without prior knowledge of the system interfaces. SeFrame resolves this limitation by elaborating the semantic notion into the SOA. Rather than using well-defined interfaces for communications, businesses communicate with each other using the “semantics”. This capacity greatly facilitates the B2B integration processes in service heterogeneous distributed environments.
