Abstract
Today, security in mobile ad hoc networks has become a challenging topic. In this paper, we propose a solution using asymmetric key technique for securing AODV protocol which is considered as a standard routing protocol in mobile ad-hoc networks. Taking self-securing approach, the proposal is based on a localized trust model which allows users to generate public/private key pairs, to issue certificates and to perform authentication without requirement of any online trusted third party. Compared to other security routing protocols, our solution eliminates the unrealistic assumption about the availability of on-line trusted authorities or certificate repositories, thus, it can take advantages of public-key technology to prevent many types of attack from malicious nodes.
