Abstract
Abstract. This paper presents an investigation of the largest Lyapunov exponent (LLE) on the heart rate variability. We construct an acquisitive system and a complete database of the signal electrocardiogram; calculate the signal heart rate variability and the correlative largest Lyapunov exponent. The result examined by the analysis of variance (ANOVA) tool expresses that the largest Lyapunov exponent can be used as a nonlinear characteristic to determine if there is apnea or not.
