New Invariant of DNA Sequence Based on 3D Graphical Representation and its Application on Phylogeny

Abstract
This paper proposes a novel method to analyze DNA sequences based on 3D graphical representation of DNA sequence [B. Liao, Chemical Physics Letters 388 (2004) 195-200]. From the 3D curve, we can get a new invariant to characterize the sequences data, and then, the relative evolutionary distances are obtained. An effective method based on the hierarchical clustering algorithm is used to construct phylogenetic tree. The evolution relationships of eight HA (H5N1) genomes of different avian influenza virus of several countries illustrate the utility of our approach.
